Colonial Hill is a "mission minded" church. We participate fully in the International Mission Board, North American Mission Board and State Mission Offerings. We also have teams that travel to Brazil each year. Bobby Holamon takes a team each spring and Britt Canada and Jim Palmer take a team during the summer months. Bobby Holamon took a team from March 11 - 19, 2010. Britt and Jim will take a team on July 16-22, 2010.
World Hunger
The month of May is World Hunger emphasis for Colonial Hill. This year banks in the shape of Texas will be available for those that want to save their change for this offering.
Church Builders travel each summer to locations that need help with construction of classrooms, sanctuary, etc. This year they will travel Dubois,Wyoming. No date has been set as yet. For more information contact Darlene Stokes.
Faith In Action is in its 3rd year at Colonial Hill. A Saturday and part of a Sunday afternoon are used to make repairs on homes of people in the community that otherwise could not afford to make the repairs themselves or are not physically able to make any needed repairs. This year Faith in Action will be on October 9 and if necessary the afternoon of October 10. There will be sign up sheets for volunteers.
Youth Missions
Our youth have traveled twice to New Orleans to work with Habitat for Humanity on several building projects. No decision has been made as yet for the location of the 2010 mission project.
Buckets of Hope
This month (March 2010) Colonial Hill participated in the Baptist General Convention of Texas' "Buckets of Hope", for Haiti Earthquake Relief. People purchased food items to fill 5 gallon buckets. 40+ buckets were taken to drop off points in Texas where they would be flown or shipped to Haiti.
