KNOW GOD

At the moment you made Jesus Lord, you handed Him the keys to your life, and the first place He wants to drive you is into the waters of baptism. Unfortunately, that moment may not have happened for you yet. Every second Sunday is your chance. Don’t wait another month. Say "Yes" to what He's calling you to do—and let the world know you're unashamed of Jesus, who saved you and whom you now serve. By the way, our team will provide everything you need for this special day: shirts, shorts, towels, a photographer, and even underwear. All you need to do is register!

Frequently Asked Questions

Because Jesus instructed us to be baptized, baptism is an act of obedience and demonstrates submission to God. It's an outward expression of an inward decision to follow Him. In fact, Jesus modeled baptism when He was on earth, giving it special significance (Matthew 28:19-20, Mark 1:9). Everyone who receives Jesus Christ as his or her personal Savior should be baptized (Acts 2:36-41).

We believe baptism is for children and adults who can express their own decision (Romans 10:9) to trust and follow Jesus and understand its meaning (Acts 10:47-48). If your child is interested in getting baptized, contact the church office and set up an appointment with Lead Pastor Reid Johnson or Kids Pastor Josh Liles so they can verify your child is ready for this important step.

In the Bible, we find parents bringing their children to Jesus. He held them, prayed for them, and told us to welcome them, but He did not baptize them or instruct anyone to baptize them. For this reason, at Colonial Hill we do not baptize infants. However we do offer Child Dedication ceremonies several times annually, as we see Hannah do with her son in 1 Samuel 1.
